Guadeloupe has a wide range of things to do, but the zoo is perhaps the most kid friendly option for a family. There are a number of tropical animal species, and it seemed that all of the animals were well taken care of. There were various forms of enrichment in many of the exhibits, and none of the animals appeared to be malnourished. The zoo does not only have animals however. This zoo is one of the few that allows you to walk in the canopy above the zoo via a series of suspension bridges!
The Canopy Walk
One of the best things about the zoo was being able to walk along the suspension bridges in the canopy above the zoo. Honestly, the zoo itself was worth a visit without them, and we had no idea that they were there. The bridges travel above some of the exhibits, one of which belongs to the tortoises. Don’t worry, it doesn’t go into the panther exhibit.
The amazing thing about the zoo’s suspension bridges is that there are ones for adults, and there are ones for children. When you enter them, there is a fork that indicates which direction is which. The children’s route includes slides and structures, and are much lower to the ground than the route designed for adults. And as adults, we can say that they would be fun, even for the grouchiest visitor in your group!

Overall
The zoo is very kid friendly, the animals are taken care of, and there is plenty to keep adults entertained as well. The cost to get in was around $18 for adults, and $10 for children. Kids under three were free. If you find yourself in Guadeloupe, it is definitely worth a visit.
